07 lsjcat failure GM notice?

Hey guys I don't know if this is a repost but I just got a letter from GM. Apparently they have finally figured out what we have been tellin the, for 2 years. The cat on the 07 lsj is a POS. The letter basically states that the cat has failed and thrown check engine lights and resulted in loss of engine power. It says if u believe ur car is having this issue contacet ur local dealer to make an appt to get it checked out and replaced for free. They have also extended our smog warranties on these models to 10 year or 120,000 miles to cover this issue. Also says there is a number to contact if you got this problem fixed before the announcment and caused you to pay out money either for a new dp or smog retest because u didnt pass for reimbursment. Just curious if anyone else has got this letter. Any questions guys just ask

I haven't gotten a letter, but I do throw the P0171 (system too lean) code here & there. I have a 2007 with an Injen intake, Stage 2, & HPtuned. Heard it's pretty normal though....the code that is.

I never got a letter. But I should be fine on the cat. Mine was replaced not too long before I bought the car, so the Cat is not even 5,000 miles old.

usually caused by dirty maf sensor, tb or the cat ikssue.lol. And i didnt know it was all years. I mean i figured of course it would be because our stock cats r crap and only last 15k but my letter says 07 so yea.lol

so the only way to know if you need it replaced is if the words"engine power loss" appear?

yea well i was just informing everyone. its kinda nice that GM has extended the warranty to 10 year or 120,000 miles. See in cali we have to get it smoged at 6 years and the smog warranty is only good for 5 years so the warranty did us no good.lol

so is it just a new cat or a new designed cat?

Dont want to have to keep replacing ever so often...
