1st time at the track
Last night was my 1st night to race. It was fun. A buddy of mine asked me to go sence it was supposed to be the last night it was going to be open.
1st run:
60' 2.732
1/8 10.296
1/4 15.250
MPH 100.55
2nd run:
60' 2.363
1/8 9.528
1/4 14.470
MPH 99.35
3rd run:
60' 2.312
1/8 9.299
1/4 14.193
MPH 99.68
4th run im not going to post becuase I had my buddy in the car and it was a mid 14 and sucked.
Anways this was my first time to ever race and I loved how my times just kept dropping but I was hoping to see 13.7 or 13.6 but they closed before I could get anymore runs.
Any tips?

learn to slip the clutch ...your mph seems low but i dont know how indiana air effects things like that. Over here in mass stock cobalts are trapping 100-102. Way to work it down though, make sure your giving it 100% throttle as well, you would be surprised how many first timers only go 80%, throw the floor matt in the trunk just in case as well

Ya i dont know much about the air around here either but I figured it see 101-102 traps with my mods. Ya I know the launch is killing me. I need to get those 60 foot times down and I just get wheel hop.

Power shift the bitch! hehe thats how I do it. If the clutch cant hold it replace it all part of going fast. Im still running the stock clutch at 3800 miles and i drive the car. Car was bought new with 58miles and stage 2 was put on a the PDI of the car so the car probly had 2-5 miles on it at the time.
Nice times tho. Watch the axles they love to break. You get alot of wheel hop with that trans mount. how are the vibrations.

Ya I get wheel hop but only at the track. Out here on the street pavement I can just spin the tires all day long. The vibrations are bad at low rpms. Im rattling things loose now but I have the ingalls brace on there as well. It makes the car feel more studier but like I said the vibes can be bad.

Nice runs. Glad to see you had a blast. Yea, its amazing how much differant things can effect your time. The weather being one of the biggest. I would think you could hit a 13.8 with the right weather and perfect launch. I;m really hopeing for a 14.4 stock run but it will be hard to get IMO.

The track seemed to be pretty good. I got some wheel hop at 25 psi so I know the track was pretty sticky and the guys were keeping it swept and hosed down in the burnout box.

you dont use the burnout box on stock tires.... just go around it and spin them a little to get the dirt off.
