2.0 to 2.4 swap
Im sure this has been covered somewhere in the forums but I couldnt find it.
Has someone swapped to a 2.4 block from the LSJ and put the M62 on it? Are there extra parts to get or is it a simple swap(swap out block + ecu)?
Also, you guys who have done it...what were your gains at the wheel?

and the F23s have been shown to take a lot of power as well.

idk know. I thinks its a tough choice. With a big turbo and proper cooling you can expect to get about 350ish hp out of an stock LSJ. A built LSJ with a big turbo will push 400hp. The Hahn Racecraft Stage 4 2.4 tubro kit claims 447 crank HP at 21 psi with the stock internals. Build an LE5 and you can lay down some insane numbers!
It all depends on your goals. If I was looking for huge power out of an ecotec I would go with a LE5. Pick up a SS/NA for cheap and go from there. Or find a blown ss/sc and go from there. It would be a lot of work and $$ but if you are looking for huge power what more can you expect?

Nope, torque and the 2-3 shift at the track killed one, and a downshift to 3rd gear at 80mph killed the other. I guess that's what happens when you have the Exedy Hypersingle and Drivesaft Shop axles. The tranny then becomes the weak link and breaks.

It would all depend on how much money you ultimatly wanted to put in. With the sky and solstice the after market for the 2.4 has increased, allowing for internals allowed for boost. If you pop on the solstice/sky forums there are a couple of guys running 400hp now.
Now since the 2.4 and the 2.0 are all from the ecotec family, i don't see why you couldn't take your current tranny and throw it on a 2.4 since they should all have the same bolt pattern.
