2.8 Pulley with Gm kit
This technically isnt another stage kit thread
But is anybody running this?
Would it be safe? I think it would be safe, i mean the GM stage kit is a new tune, while these aftermarket companies are using piggybacks to run 2.8's.

this is definetly another stage kit thread. in all the others, people are talking about it, but nobody has done it yet.
I plan on running stage 2 with a 2.9 billetflow, then a 2.7 at the track. But not until i get my car fixed...

A 2.9" pully at 7000Rpm should give you less then 14,500Rpm at the suppercharger. Its red line is 16,000Rpm from what I have been able to find.
A 2.7" pully at 7000Rpm should give you BOUT 15,555Rpm at the supercharger.
Still below its redline.
THe thing we need to find out is how much it will afect the intake temps.
I see your bigest problem is going to be heat soke IMO.

Yeah, but im not going to bother with switching out the pulley from a 3" to a 2.9",if im gonna do it, im gonna do a 2.8.
i dont want to be the guinea pig, im just curious to see how it will do, and if other people had plans for this. It looks like it so,

you can run a 2.9 stock....so a 2.7 or even a 2.6(thats what i'm doin) can be run with a stage kit.
people are runing 2.6 now...with maf-t and injecters.....our stage kit will allow us to do that as well

I have Stage 2 and will be getting it installed on Thursday. Just bought a 2.8 ring from SFPH and I will see if it matches up with the GM hub.. I believe with the new flash on the computer that the car is not going to bleed the extra boost. Whatever boost it receives it will adjust from what i have read.

I found the M-90 info on another site. its Max rpm is 14,000 rpm as well. see link
http://www.mn12performance.com/magnuson/magnuson.htm
also see news article. I think I may call them to see whats up. it appears they have taken over sales for auto S/C for Eaton and that is why the website change.
Now I did find that gm used a 73mm (2.874") pulley on the 300hp build up and did not say what REDLINE was intended to be.
Now I have a question. what is the crank dampener pulley circumference?

The plugs do WONDERS with stage 2. The car runs much smoother now that i put the plugs in this afternoon. My friend got in the car today for the first time since the stage kit and plug install and noted like i did that the vibration from my transmission mount was reduced!!! And even before putting the plugs in i had reinstalled my weaopon-r damper and had noticed a slight vibe increase, so for him to say the vibes were less is a definate plus.

I am probly going to do this too, but I just wana know if this will put more stress on the engine and if it will waste a lot more gas cuz premium is expensive? And if you have any suggestions (Magnaflow vs Corsa?) for me, check out my signature and PM me.
