I wasn't really planning on getting a tune...but now you got me thinking. How much would the tune run you? dollar wise and hp wise =)

Yea the problem with that is you have to have a tune to go to 60lbs and you need a GOOD tune to do so, alot of motors go pop cause of bad tunes and 60's.... A 2.9 wont really be a hell of a lot worse then the 3.x you have with the stage 2, its not a huge difference in size, thing is the pulley spins easier making boost quicker being why you feel the increase.

Injectors on this car are effed up anyway, till you get a real good tune and 60s.

Did you check the alignment on the belt yet??? Usually slips off on the A/C compressor towards the compressor side itself causing a squeek.

could have just greased the pulley up with your hands when you were installing it. Have fun and be safe, i love my 2.9, but its starting to give me a lead foot.

dont think that you need a bigger tensioner with a 2.9 and to the guy who has belt squeeking make sure you check your belt to make sure its on right

Really?! even though he doesnt work for the company and hes just telling us of good/awesome deals? It's not like he's making money off it, i just find it unfortunate that if theres a vendor somewhere out there that might sell a gm stage 2 kit for sale for $400 and we cant discuss it because they arent a vendor.

Funny how people just passed by this info and didn't comment on it . I logged a 119% IDC on my stage 2 pulley with a tech 2 this summer. When i put the 2.99 on they went down to 94% ..... really weird .

I can only replace the pulley if I'm certain that my car will be fine with just that....

Yeah mine with 42's and a Stage 3 pulley is putting IDC's over 100%. It peaked at like 118% at 6800 in 3rd.

Okay, I fixed the belt squeek. I had a rib off the lower pulley.
Got it aligned properly, and it hasnt made a noise since.

As for the tuning issue, that sucks. 60 lb'ers wernt originally in the cards for me.
I dont suppose tuning alone would solve the problem?
