Well you don't want to lean it out by downsizing pulley. Technically its not leaning it out its just running your injectors as hard as they can go and them not being able to keep up so your tune is still as rich as ever but your injectors can't keep up while giving you everything they've got. For the health of your car, you'd probably be better off staying as is or youll be putting alot of stress on those injectors.

And to answer the actual question you had, no I don't think it would be worth it to go from 2.9 to 2.85 because
- Extra ~50-60$
- Performance gains will be negligible. If you're upgrading for performance do it right.
- Car health reasons as stated above
- Nate recommends a 2.9 as the lowest you should go on s2 injectors

WTF? PULLY SIZES CANNOT CHANGE YOUR A/F OOOOOOOOOOOH LORD, adding a pulley will not Change your air fuel and make your run leaner. the reason people run lean is because these 2 pulleys make you go over 100 percent idc and sometimes when you go over a 100 percent idc it makes your injectors go static causing your car to run lean which can damaage your engine.

yeah, i hate that "Leaning out your tune with smaller pulley" propaganda, but it may max out injectors which is bad anyways. I've got a 2.9 on a stage 2 and i still fear my IDC's. With my wideband, one thing that may have leaned me out a tad was rebel's 3" intake, and maybe the super amounts of cooling mods and some supercharger porting, i'm seeing 11.3-11.8 at WOT still on factory stage 2 tune.

2.9 is the lowest I would go without a tune....
Comming from someone who ran a 2.85" untuned for awhile you car gets really really angry!
I am running a 2.80" now on my 42's and it's running strong! YAY!
