hey all, this is my first post on here but i've been reading up as much as i can on the forum. very early march i'm picking up a brand new 2007 cobalt ss s/c and i have had a few guys checkin my parts out, matchin prices and gettin quotes to me and so on.
i'm really interested in putting a stage 2 into my car and they've already said they would put it in for me under warrenty so i could pick it up the day after it arrives. i'm not sure if anything has been posted about this yet and i know a lot of people are asking but is there any new news about a stage 2 kit that is actually able to work with the 07 model yet?
i do have until jan 15 when i order my car to find one so that i can order the kit as well so it'll be ready when the car shows but i'd like all the info i can get on it so i can get the techs some info on it as well. thanks

I personally like the idea of a breakin.....but the positives to getting it installed pre delivery are just to good.
If you take delivery of the car with stage 2 it basically puts your warranty in a locked safe. it becomes part of your "original equipment" and ive had it confirmed by a dealership that when its installed pre delivery it will also be covered under any EXTENDED warranty that you buy.
if you have the chance to do it, i would jump on it.

I wouldn't pay $300 for the installation. Mine cost 225 and I only paid that much because it was their first time doing it so it took them 3 hours. Typical dealers here in NY charge around 75-80 dollars per hour for the labor rate. I guess if labor rates are more expensive around you then I could see $250 or so, but I would not let them charge you for more than 3 hours of work. They just do not need that much time. Call around to dealerships and find one that seems interested and willing to do it.

Just search using your zip code and call around to all the dealers that come up as GMPP Dealers. That's how I found my dealership and they're amazing about aftermarket stuff. Tell them straight out that you've done your research and you want a good dealer that will work with you and not give you a hard time. If they're willing to play ball, you'll be able to tell. Don't go to hesitant or sketchy dealers. It's just asking for trouble...

I lucked out on this one, bought the stage 2 with the car, but they didnt have it in stock, so I got to drive the car 2000+ Km without it. So the car was broken in before the kit got installed, but still considered original equipment!!

IN based.. i know. i have an 07 stage 2 comp pack redline. it does not void warrenty. i was the first 07 lsj to get the flash. i got it on 11.10.06. using the 04 to 06 stage 2 kit.and if you doubt me race me.. me car pushes 15 pounds of boost and a very nice 7k redline with a full 100,000 mile warrenty..even roadside.. the kit cost me 562. and 325 to get installed at a saturn dealer...should only be 2 to 3 hours of customer pay..and dont forget if u have an aftermarket CAI to let your car lean the intake.. took mine over 1,000 miles..

The debate continues with the stage 2 upgrade , I just ran a 13.9 at 106 mph with a 2.8pulley and no injectors or reflash. If the computer has time to adapt to the higher boost , you can run Sunoco 94 and still run great times. No engine light and I made 4 passes.
Alcohol injection is next . In my humble opinion GM can shove the Stage 2 kit. The stock injectors can handle the additional boost.

again i dont know how many times it needs to be said, hes you can run the 2.8 on the 42's.... you'll see anywhere from 94-108 % duty, the injectors are fine, and designed to run up to 120% without issue.... people need to seriously relax on the whole 2.8 is the devil thing, read the real numbers and grow up
dont blame the false knowledge on your inability to mod correctly.
