It will have the 2.4 N/A motor, and there will be no supercharged version. No turbocharged version, period. At least not in 08, now 09 might be different, but I doubt it. They are killing off alot of the 'SS' badged cars.
This also has to do with new emissions requirements that the LSJ do not meet, or so I have heard.

IMO the 5 speed is prety quick, the auto is a droning joke--I have owned both. And neither is replacement for the S/C

I don't think GM is dumb enough to think that the NA SS--now called SPORT--is a replacement for the S/C SS.

Do you really think it is??

I don't think GM has a choice. New emmisions regulations are hindering the release of a few of GM's up-and-coming cars. The new convertable Camaro, CTS-V, something from Pontiac on the Camaro chassis, and the much anticipated super-corvette coming out all will lower GM's overall average MPG below the new standards. GM is going to cut the lower level cars that don't have optimal MPG and don't sell as much and try to offer the most fuel efficient vehicles they can on the lower end to raise their average...

That's just what I've heard, but since this whole thread is speculation, I figure I'm clear to do so myself.

are you sure you mean emissions or MPG?

In case you haven't heard, the LNF is far cleaner and gets better MPG then the 2.0 LSJ

They arent replacing the SS/SC with the Sport, they are just dropping the SC all together, and rebadging the ss/na. The overall MPG theory mentioned earlier sounds like that might be the culprit, but I dont know. All I know is that the SS/SC is a goner.

MGP are part of emissions. Long-term, the lower a car's MPG, the more fuel it will use and the more emmisions it will release into the atmosphere. I never said the LSJ or the LNF had bad gas milage, I said that they don't have optimal. I never once compared them, so I don't know where you got that from.

a boosted car shouldnt have any more emissions than a regular NA car, the reason that the LSJ emissions suck is they have to have it so pig rich from the factory all to keep from blowing up #4. Put a half decent intake manifold on and then back off the AFR, problem solved
