300hp Daily Driver (TVS guys chime in)

Just wondering how possible this would be guys. I really want to go tvs. But I also need a reliable car since its my dd. I put almost 20k on my car last year. From what I have been told I could do this. I imagine I would need a conservative tune and to keep the pulley size stock or very close to it. Tell me where you guys think I would be hp wise with the following setup:

TVS w/ either stock or 3" pulley
80lb injectors
NGK 1 step plugs
Custom Tune (was told not to run OTTP stage 3 pcm)
OTTP 3" Intake
OTTP heat exchanger
Dual pass or single pass?
Hahn Header
Hahn 3" Downpipe
Hahn 3" Catback

Won't hit 300 hp. And get a pacesetter header not hahn
Need to either go e85 or run meth to hit 300, but you can do that on the m62 too..lol.

Why pacesetter over hahn/vibrant/ottp longtubes? I already have the hahn catback and love it, thats why i figured i would just go hahn the whole way. I also want something thats not gonna sound like ass with my exhaust.

And yeah i was trying to stay away from meth but I can always decide to go that route later right?

was just shy of 300hp but been retuned so should be over 300hp now. Dyno we have been dynoing is a killer for reading low but i dont care, its times that matter, dynos just a tool. Dont want to go back on till i get my shitty clutch replace and some other parts i will have installed.

I have pacesetter on mine doesn't sound like ****, keep the cat converter and you'll be fine, flow is one of the best u can get and cheap too unlike the 500 you will drop on an overpriced SHORTY header from hahn. I'm sure ott and vibrant flow somewhat close also but pacesetter is 180 dollars shipped new lol.
Yeah if you just put tvs on can prob get like 270-280hp any more you need to raise the octane though.

yea, ive talked to some people who advise not to run the tvs without meth, but i would rather stay away from it for now. Horsepower isnt really my main concern. Im just looking to be able to smoke some lnf's haha

haha yea. I dont like the price tag on Hahn's stuff at all. I'm in love with the exhaust though. But true i need to look into other options because i can get a header/dp combo for the price of just the hahn header lol

yeah i wouldn't advise a shorty header either lots of people run the cobalt addiction ones but they're usually low build quality and sound like ass catted or catless and then you have the hahn that costs 500 when it should cost 150 lmao....there is a reason that the pacesetter header and the zzp mid length combo bear such a close resemblance .

To be honest I think I have seen one lnf in York haha. Not many cobalts up here at all. A lot of pompous evo drivers though. God they **** me off.

Yea, I was immediately turned away from the zzp mid length combo because someone specifically told me not to use it with the hahn catback or it will sound like complete ass. Not sure if this is true or not

TVS is good for many things, track daily driving... you name it you are going to want cooling mods out the ass and exhaust and intake mods, ls4 throttle body would be good for you too. I would recommend finding a good tuner in your area, do not RUN OTTP stage III tune. 3.1 pulley is okay for power wise puts you at about 270-280 depending upon supporting mods. On a 2.9 you can get around 310-320whp depending upon tune and other mods.

HAHAHA oh my god dont even get me started on CBRD. I raced an evo on 83 who thought he was hot **** because he had CBRD put on an intake and exhaust (his only mods). Granted I lost but it just made me laugh because right before i asked the guy his mods I saw his CBRD plate frame and told my buddy i bet all he had done was intake and exhaust and sure enough, I was right lmao

Ehh the reason I got the pacesetter over the zzp is I already had an aftermarket downpipe, and the zzp mid length some people have problems with it leaking. Wasn't really worried soundwise. Hahn exhaust is deep so as long as you keep it catted shouldn't be a problem with either header.
My car's kinda loud but I've never had anyone say it sounds like **** always just get the "wow your cars loud when you get on it sounds good as **** though" .

Haha yup they all think that because their car is capable of the things that evos have achieved that their cars automatically become that when they slap a cbrd plate and window sticker on .
What mods do you have now?

I have the CTI 3" - 2.5" cause I have the stock cat back still just made it a full 2.5" after the dp though. If you're going to get the pacesetter you could just have the shop you take it to make you a downpipe for cheaper though. The pacesetter is cool cause if you don't chop off the ball joint, it acts as it's own flexpipe and doesn't need a gasket other than on the head.

Ah ok. Well when you decide what you wanna do I can see if my buddy would be interested in tuning it. One of the top tuners in the community. He kinda cut back on tuning people for now though cause he never had time for anything lol everyone always wanting a piece of him

Awesome man. I'm gonna be doing my header/dp real soon and then I am hoping to get the tvs shortly after (this fall at the latest). I will definitely hit you up though. I appreciate it.

Sound's good I know my buddy that he tuned in NY with just stock motor and a tvs made either almost 300 or made more than 300 I forget atm, so depending how your car likes different tuning things could actually see close to it without meth.
I know when I had just an intake stock pulley stock injectors, and just a tune **** would keep up with gms2 balts till the later gears lol.

Run E85 and you won't need a TVS for 300whp.
