06black, that is what I wanted to hear. I'm still awaiting the details on whether it's a .48 or .63 on the housing though. Would it be bad if it was indeed a .48 though. It's not like I'm looking for some crazy top WHP figure I just don't want to wait forever for it to spool. My Integra's small 16G gets full spool at 3300rpms and it's awesome. I'm looking for a similar spool with a bit more top end, and the .57 trim here seems to be ticket.

the comp wheel trim has vary little to do with Spool times, its largest effect if compressor flow and PR build times.

spool times are mostly dependent on turbine wheel and trim because you have to get shaft speed up for the compressor wheel to become effective.

the .48 will come in quicker then your teggy but it'll kill its self before the top end, get what i'm sayin?

I think I'm on the same page. The .63 will permit me to have boost all the way up top where as a .48 would fall off before it gets there. As of the way my Integra sits, it gets full spool at 3300 like I said, but it still belts out power all the way to 7000rpms. So the .63 would allow me to do the same on the Cobalt without it falling on it's face up top. I think I finally have all my questions answered about this stuff. Now to see how everthing will into place.

The big decision still remains... stick with the twinscrew and wait it out or go for the gusto and get the turbo. I liking the sound of this project though for sure.

remember the teggy isnt moving as much air(displacement and head flow) that accounts allot for the top end.

making power and boost drop are vastly different, but thats besides the point.

your most likely incorrect in your post, i've talked to Jim multiple times and surge lines dont lie.

Snap! It is amazing how much there is to turbos and all it basicly is is two impellers hooked together.
