500 Whp Cobalt On Stock Internals And 1.6 Inch Pulley!

Ye the title is a tribute to STAGEZERO cobalt, the two tone sunburnt orange and black cobalt, that doesnt produce 500 whp. i read his thread on cobalt ss . net

here's the link

ttp://www.cobalt ss.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10655[/url]

my question is. what would have to be done to a cobalt with an m62 to get that kind of horsepower, if its even possible? not that im planning anything, but just out of curiosity

Its not possible unless you are using a lot of nitrous. you would be better off getting the tvs or going turbo to see gains even remotely close to 500.

if i remember correctly i think the M62 is good up to 300HP efficiently. i could be wrong tho. as for 500HP, it's not even a reality with the M62.

look carefully at it from start to finish

what about a setup with 350 whp, that would be difficult, but possible right, a 150 shot of nitrous would blo the engine wouldnt it?

You arent going to see those numbers on a M62. Once you go below a 2.8 pulley you are pretty much just overspinning the blower and creating a lot of heat.

good, now, .net x .com

well if your running a 2.7 meth, h/e and a dual pass end plate would do the job no? in terms of the heat problem

i keep asking myself that, too be honest, i want to squeeze every ounce of power i can on the budget i have, i know 2.8 is more reliable, im gonna go to a garage and get real numbers for the power output between the 2.7 and 2.8. if the power is worth it, which i hear mixed reports on that topic, then ill switch my order to 2.7

500hp is way out of reach with the m62, 300 is the "brick wall", Its about all you will get nomatter what you do unless you go with nitrous.

tvs isn't a whole lot better, Even the best tuner on this site (IMO) Is barley making over 350whp with it.

Really for numbers higher than that turbo is about the only option

thats what i thought, and this stagezero guy doesnt have a hahn conversion, or any sort of turbo, he claims its a stock blower, by the way how much whp does a hahn level 5 turbo converison kid on the cobalt make?

who the hell is stagezero? If he is claiming 400hp on a m62 hes on crack

A hahn stage 5 turbo kit will make high 300's right out of the box, If you get a good tuner and everything goes your way you might break 400, Thing with a turbo kit is your motor is about your only real limit. The turbo that comes with the kit will support 500hp and even if you needed somthing bigger you could just swap to bigger turbo.

Thing is you would have to build/sleeve your motor to go much over 400hp, Plus a pretty crazy clutch, axles, And your probably still gonna break stuff once in awhile, Thats reality with a high horsepower 4 banger

Ah thats funny... I love how he honestly believes his water/meth injection gives him 98whp What a ******* tool...

I can think of one way to MAYBE get 400hp with a m62 and that is pretty much all your basic stuff with a built motor and pported head with like a 125shot and it might break 400whp but would probably be a ticking time bomb
