u need the boost fuel reference mainly for when ur boosting over 17lbs of boost. pcm can't read above there and ur fuel runs lean. the boost reference raises ur fuel pressure 1:1 with boost

what kind of tune are you on?? what are your afrs at? and what injectors do you have?? all of this will play a factor in whether or not your injectors get maxed out. and we wont know if they will or not, unless you log for idc's with hpt. if you are commanding a 10.8 afr as the stock tune does on a 2.9, then they will max out. or if your maf isnt dialed in fully, or your fuel tables arent close. youd have to log to check that. but even if they did max out, your afr would rise, but only to about 11.5. but this also depends on elevation, climate, etc. as you said.

if your running gms2 injecctors, they will max out at 120%.. not the 100 % that all others do. you also need to make sure your tuner is using the correct pid for idc's. the one listed will actually show values that are half of the actual idc your putting out, because it is set for 8 cyl. instead of 4. you have to make a custom idc pid to get the actual value.

many people have ran 42s on a 2.9. even if they go static, youll still be running a safe enough afr. and if your on lucas injectors, youre in even better shape, as they are rated to 42.5 lb/hr i think.

if you have an interceptor, you can calculate idc's by using this simple formula

run wot up to redline and watch you injector pulsewidths.. at the highest value of ipw, just before redline, take a mental not of that number. itll be at like the high teens or low 20s, i cant remember. but youll take that numebr and multiply by the rpm that you were at.. say 7000 rpm and then divide that by 1200.

for example a pulse width of 16 ms at 7000 rpm
16*7000=112000
then divide
112000/1200=93.3 % like i said though. if your on gms2 injectors, they wont go static until 120 % i think stockers are like that also, but every other brand that i know of, lucas, siemens, etc. go static at 100 %

edit: new interceptors may even calculate idc for you.. i dont know

I was on 60's when my car was pretty much stock, had it tuned and had the stock inj's maxed out. No idle hunting... pullied down to 2.8 still with my 60's and new tune, no idle hunting.

Southal Cobalt - Can you please explain to me how an injector maxes out (static) at 120% when all injectors go static at 100%? Static mean always full open or open 100% of the time if at 100%IDC. 120% would mean its open 120% all the time.

I have never heard of this I guess.

im not gonna lie, dont know why. but its been noted on here, rlf and hpt forum that the gms2 injectors max out a 120 % idc. it doesnt make sense to me either. it may be how the gms2 tune is setup, but the idc hits 100 % on the 77.9 inch pulley at like 5500-6000 rpm. i was hitting 115 % idc on the gms2 pulley at a 11.6 afr.

maybe someone else can explain why. i just assume its one of those funny things like the 200 % commanded boost table on the stock lsj

Then why ZZP tune get crappy idles ? They should fix that problems to get it straighten out for their canned tune.
