yea, that's old... even though it performs better than pretty much all the cars on there, they place it last for shitty interior...

"Our Cobalt hit 60 in 7.1 seconds and covered the quarter-mile in 15.2 seconds"
...errrrr

"It turned the second quickest lap time at the Streets of Willow (1:34.90)"
ok....

"This short-coupled coupe offers the least usable passenger package in the group, and its interior materials (aside from the Recaro seats) are far below the quality level set by the other contenders."

... so it came in 6th because it has a terrible interior?

interesting

Subaru, ok, I can see that
Honda, yeah, I can hear arguments of quality over chevy
ummm, mini cooper should have been higher
and, a VW beat out the cobalt?

Exactly! The 1/4th times and other info is total BS. Everyone loves my car I talk too, They love the rims and the interrior. I ran a 14.2 @ 100mph stock. How they ran over a 15 second 1/4th I have no clue. Someone needs to learn how to drive. The cobalt SS/Sc should of been in the top three.

we care about performance.

they care about granola crunching interiors and how easy it is to get the grocerys in the car.

reviewers are not the same as car enthusiasts.

whens the last time you were picking between 2 cars, and considered the size of the radio knobs and the ease of use of the heater controls on an equal footing with throttle response and low down torque? because reviewers do.

i know that guy sucked at driving - they need the new driver mod.

is the mazda really that much faster than us though? if we know he can't drive our car... he probably can't drive the mazda either.. so i'll bet that they are pretty damn fast.. comments?

No thats what the mazdaspeed3 is good for. Funny thing. One of the other magazines that had a speed3 for testing called mazda and asked them how to launch it and following thier direction they dropped I think almost 1/2 a second in the 1/4 mile. They tell you to short shift 1-2 shift by about 400rpm then powershift 2-3 and then just go normal from there, lol.

The Mazda 3 is a great car and deserves 1st place, but the way all the performance numbers are on the six cars listed, there is an obvious issue with 1/4 mile times on the Cobalt and only the Cobalt. The Mazda Speed 3, WRX TR, and Cobalt SS/SC are in a higher class than the other three cars, there should be no question about that. Very sad how "editors" can be so biased about virtually nothing. I guess that's just advertising dollars and ignorance speaking, instead of knowledge and truth. Too bad, really.

Edit post, they call the TR ugly and like the styling of the Mazda 3 and Mini better? And claim the gas mileage of the SI stays about 20 when driven hard?!?!? Cough, BULLSHIT, cough, cough.

completely true. the styling is entirely up to the taste of the reviewer though. lately i've been seeing a lot of magazines lean towards the european hatch style.

Wow after reading that i will never read edmunds again. And how is the vw better? The interior is like a mirrior image of the cobalts same silver stripe across the middle and stuff w/e. We are proud of our cars but it just pisses me off that people rate our car so low. The mazda looks like a girls car in my opionion
