Advice Please: CEL for Too Rich, Misfires Bank 1, Only Came on for 30 Seconds?
Weird.
I'm running the mods in my sig below. I need to get a custom tune, I'm on the canned one. The car is pulling good now, I switched spark plugs and gap and got rid of the hesitation I used to have. I actually increased the gap to 0.035", previously, I ashamed to say, I was using a MM gaping tool, not INCHES! LOL, so my gap was waayyyyy tooooo narrow at 0.035MM...
Anyway, as the title says, I got the CEL back about being too rich (this was on ALL the time when my gap was way too narrow), and misfires in Bank 1, though this time, it only lasted about 30 seconds and went off itself. Can I get away with driving the car for some time with this condition? Or is this something I should fix immediately? I think basically it's just too rich for a while, then leans out I suppose...
I'm going to open up the plugs a bit more, gap them to .037" and see if that helps, it helped a ton going up to .035" as I mentioned above.
Also, I just got Torque for Android and an ODBII bluetooth scanner. I was logging my timing and it goes from 1500 rpm where there's barely any to 7,100 rpm where I'm at 40 degrees of timing! The progression of the timing is nice and smooth, it looks good, but 40 degrees of timing, is that crazy?
Thanks a ton!
