AFR question.

AFR question.
Alright.. well.. the time has come... Ive moved to the dark side and should be expecting a Hahn Turbo kit here around March...
Not sure if im going to be doing my own tuning yet, but, either way... ill need to tell the tuner what i want and i had some questions about AFRs and such...
Has anyone experienced better spool times with a richer/leaner mix? Ive checked a couple forums and the arguments just went back and forth but didnt seem to get anywhere. One thing i picked up is having it rich enough to basically cause an explosion outside of the exhaust ports to kinda push the turbo faster...
Now lets say im either leaner / richer for the first couple thousand rpms, do you ramp into teh desired AFR, or do you just command to jump the .x when desired? How about with spark as well? Someone said ramping the spark reduces torque in some areas.
Now... with the final AFR... I dont really give a **** if its "safe"... if your trying to be safe and fast, stop tuning. But i know there has to be a magical number out there that is just too lean and will actually stop making power. Hopefully faster spool is associated with being richer, because i dont want to be running a 12.x afr up top, with it still being leaner down low... I wanted to be in the low 12s with AFR.. maybe Mid if there wouldnt be too much of a difference from 12.2 to 12.4-12.5...
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Leanest you can get with out knocking till around 5500 rpms (point where hp and tq always meet) and then richen up slightly after that. Lean gives more torque (hotter cylinder walls due to leaner mixture = more torque) and once torque equals out your richen up so the top end can get another degree or two of timing.
Good luck on the turbo setup.
