It's not possible...atleast even if it was capable of being done, it would defeat the whole point of having a roots type supercharger. The point is to build pressure in the manifold which is a tight inclosed area. You would have to cut holes in your manifold, route a pipe, make sure the pipe is tightly connected to your manifold (somehow), route it to the front and then route it back to the manifold. You'd have a nice pressure loss and it wouldn't really benefit you much.

Also, you'd be cutting and hacking away at the manifold and honestly, I don't even know how much space you would even be able to hack away at the manifold without interferring with the superchargers placement.

So cliff notes...no.

plus it would hurt the performance because air to water intercooler displaces more heat.

Actually...air to air setups are more efficient at cooling.

Although it is possible, it is not worth all the effort. Think about it, a Roots SC is an air mover. By adding a A2A cooler, you are creating more space for the air to fill. That means it will take more air to compress, plus cause a lag in the system which defeats the biggest point of a roots SC.

Taking all that into account, if you still want to do it, just remember that it will be the biggest pain in the ass ever.

And Adam, an Air to Water is more efficient at peak performance in the short term, until heatsoak does you in. Air to Air has the advantage of being far more resistant to heatsoak which gives it a flatter cooling performance curve. That comes from the A2W being a closed system in which the heat exchanger can be overloaded and it pushes the heat back through the system, while the A2A system is open and as long as it is getting fresh air (your driving forward) it will perform.

But hey, your still the Allstar.

No question is a dumb question if you don't know the answer.

You're welcome.

it's the big shiny radiator-looking thing sitting in the front end of the car.

if someone made a centrifugal supercharger kit for cobalts, you could potentially have an air/air intercooled supercharger.

It's right behind the front bumper.

Think of it like this...

It works just like a Radiator (basically does the same thing) but it's a radiator for your manifold.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the heat exchanger

The intercooler is between the manifold and supercharger

Its not an STi, just a regular WRX that they are giving away.
That is a hot car though, looks great in black!!

I think that we should also add that the radiator for the intercooler system is in the middle of the heat exchanger sandwich up front. The one you see from the hole in the bumper is the condenser, then the intercooler, then the radiatior for the engine coolant. Just wanted to mention that since I didn't see it out there yet.

I wasn't tryin to correct you Adam, please don't slap me
