It's mostly likely just the increase in airflow that's causing the problem.

I got the spectre filter. It took about a month to throw a code. Then i but the stock back on, went away in five minutes. Now i got the spectre back on and i have a code reader if it happens again.

Did the distance between the MAF and the air filter change when you did this? Even barely...?

Did the mod a couple of months ago with the Spectre filter. No CEL problems to date.

Notice my car is an 06, don't know if GM engineers made any programming changes for the new model year to reduce CEL problems from the MAF. I know there was a service bulletin for rotating or replacing the stock filter on 05's to try and eliminate CEL problems from the MAF. What a bunch of crap.

Well if that is in fact the case, then hopefully there will be a reflash for the '05 models to fix the whole CEL issue with the intakes.
