I would say yes. My opinion is to get a stainless one so you dont have to worry about it getting holes rubbed into it. My Injen (Aluminum) got rubbed all the way through. Rebel Autoworx sells one (this is what I have now). Over the Top Performance is supposed to come out with one as well.

Stainless > Aluminum

interesting-my injen doesnt rub anywhere. i did hear something about a first gen intake that rubbed, then the problem fixed for the next batch. is this true?

3" diameter vs 2.5" diameter = more airflow

That could be the case. All I know is I had problems with mine. I tried to reposition it numerous times and it didn't matter. The hood strut is what was rubbing on it.

ABM is fine, the main restriction is the the paper filter and it's already placed in the fender stock.. An intake doesn't add that much power anyways. Also a metal intake is more prone to "heatsoak" than a plastic one. Just saying if you have an ABM already the money would be better spent on mounts or something.

I do in my case since my Injen obviously wasn't going to last. You definitely hear more whine with the RAW since its bigger in diameter. As far as actual performance gains I am not sure. I went more for the durability.

No I didnt get a CEL. The MAF placement is pretty much the same as the Injen.

i never really saw the point in and intake unless you did some work on the TB all good an well you have a 3in tube but the TB will only let so much air pass its kinda pointless imo. you have some advantages metal dose flow a lot better then plastic.

I really doubt the paper filter has a disadvantage compared to an aftermarket filter. I have has numerous before and after dyno comparisons on LS1 based cars and saw no more than 1hp difference on 300+hp cars. As for the rest of the intake, they usually make a difference in flow.

Doesn't anyone have any real dyno numbers to back up their CAI? (before and after)

just keep the air box mod dood. your not going to hear a big difference from what your used to now. your just waisting 250 bucks... buy a axle back or get a dyno tune. or just throw a K&N filter and replace w.e. you have on there now.
