Bates sleeves settle into the block and yes alan it can push into the aluminum.
no, the only way sleeves settle or drop is if they were not fully seated when decked and assembled
All it takes is sleeve to move a couple of tenths to unseal the HG.
Y do u think bates calls for his sleeves to stick out .002-.003 and oring the top of the sleeves.
I actually know exactly why, but i would like to hear your theory first.

Way quicker spool and E85 takes care of the heat.

Got a spare block with a cracked upper part of the sleeve I'll be sending your way soon. Need to have a back up motor in place just in case

ok if its proven who is running these sleeves right now. as far as i know this is the first.

if pegging the block was so bad id think one of the six i have done will be having problems by now. all of them have over 5k miles the highest being 12k. zero issues so far. plus ill be pulling the head off steves car very soon, to put a better flowing one on. so im wondering wat ill find. im sure after us beating the **** out of it for over 5000 miles we would have a problem by now.

yes if seen zzps fully closed blocks fail. i have one sitting in my garage.

so ur saying all the blocks that bates himself dose r not correct. cuz every one i know that has run 1 in a street car or full on drag pro stock style car has HG issues at first due to the sleeves settling and dropping a couple tenths.

ur not the only one that talks to bates. ive spoken with him several times. im fully aware of y he wants them that way.

Less piping, less weight, faster spool. I run a fogger nozzle 950cc fuel injector in the charge pipe righ at the turbo outlet. Temps usually stabilize around 110-120.

the one zzp block i resleeved the girdle had shifted or fell in on one side of the block

bates ran the sleeves out to help in sealing and you also had to run his custom cometic hg along with it the other thing we do not remove near the material that bates does

Him and darton both remove pretty much all of it. More or less relying on the head clamping force to keep them in place. We have quite a bit more support.

just so every one knows i did not pick the phone up and say hey L.A. Sleeve make this. THIS has taken time to make happen and nothing was rushed or corner cut to make it happen i also sent them samples to make the 2.0-2.4 Sleeves i use

Alan had a block i destroyed (the bob marley block) i asked him to mail it to L.A. sleeve company in California. i had been discussing this with them for a few weeks they said send a block i said ok ill get it shipped and i dont care cut it up do what you want just give me a good solid sleeve that will take even more of a beating then the ones you have already made me for the ecotec. what you see is a slight copy of a sleeve that honda guys use that has been shoved to 900hp. the sleeve company wanted maximum meat left in the block for support just like they do on a honda. is this a new idea no but it is a little different approach and it will give us another option. and another affordable option
Alan wanted to be the first stone wanted test them and blake also so soon we will see how things work out
