It will have custom hangers for our cars so it will work!!!
So Vandy, are you saying they are making ONE BIG EFFICIENT aftercooler, to replace our stock one?
Thanks, can't wait if thats the case!

Yeah, instead of taking a stock Cobra HE....they are using the same exact one that they put on a Cobra....brrr..anyone feel a cold breeze and a POSSIBILITY of having IAT2 as low or lower than the IAT1? They said with an ice box and HE to expect around 30% loss in temps

curtousy of RL forums here is a picture of the Cobra heat exchanger, i guess we can get them for around 60-90 bucks and maybe expect to pay close to 110 with all the hoses and stuff needed....this mod is in my near future...
not to mention how bad ass it would look with a intercooler sprayer bar in front of it to chill temps even more

pat
for the most efficiency put the hotest liquid into the exchanger that receives the least cooling then route that into the 2nd least cooling exchanger...catch my drift u want it to go thru the hotest b\part first and the coldest part last so there is no chance of heating it
Dan
the stock he is huge...make the cobra feel small

the guy on the RL forums has a nice writeup on how he made his fit. I'm sure the other companies will be making something soon for us.

How about the price on those? Last I looked at LFP site those duel pass heat exchangers were in the $399 range then add a $199 icebox.... OUCH this stuff is getting expensive fast....
I like how the $50-$100 range for the heat exchanger mentioned above in the previous post sounds.

$500+ for a FMIC
$300 for a heat exchanger, they both do the same thing, cool air
i wouldnt complain of a price tag of $300 if a cobra HE would actually show significant gains.................

I understand what your getting at silverSS, but no way inhell would I pay$300 for a HE. I don't think it would be as effective as an air to air intercooler would either.

hrmph lol maybe i can clear this all up...
i responded by saying the turbo guys pay 300, 400, 500+ for FMIC upgrades.
we, with superchargers may only have to pay 100-300 for an upgraded heat exchanger...i was simply saying, we dont have to pay as much to cool the air lol, or something like that
I agree with the laminova wins effeciancy over an air-air anyday. water to airs are not on as many cars beacuse they are more money im guessing? i really dont know why water to airs are not on other cars........
I say $300 beacuse in the future when an upgraded heat exchanger comes out for the LSj plan on probably paying something like that
if you want to fab up your own like the cobra HE, only gonna run you what...$80-100 NOT BAD

Sorry, I didn't mean a FMIC on a Cobalt. I just meant comparing temperature difference, I think a air to air will cause a greater temp drop then a liquid to air will. Maybe its not even worth comparing because you have two different cars in two different settings.
