Comparing AIT1 to AIT2 at the top of 3rd gear on the acceleration run looks like it yielded a 48 degree difference ( my benchmark for intercooler efficiancy). Correct? Now for bonus points run the coolant to the two exchangers in parallel instead of in series. This will decrease the system flow resistance the pump sees and there will be a higher flow rate. This will reduce the heat transfer in the exchangers but it will increase the flow through the Laminova's therby increasing heat transfer. It all depends on which one is the limiting factor.
I doubt it will make much difference but it woulld be an interesting experiment and someone is going to ask eventually.

You mean splitting the line going into and out of the heat exchangers?
Kind of like 'T' or 'Y' fittings at each end?

That is correct. Using two idetical exchangers the flow resistance should be the same therefore flow will be equal in each one in parallel. The flow resistance of a pair piped in parallel will be half of a single unit. It's not something I would try with the Ford cobra exchanger others are experamenting with though.

Some numbers I have of the Cobra Heat exchanger. This pull was a 1-3 gear run 0-108mph run.
At start IAT1 is 106, IAT2 is 113.
At 1-2 shift IAT1 is 105, IAT2 is 118.
At 2-3 shift IAT1 is 114, IAT2 is 144.
At the end of third IAT1 is 122, IAT2 is 162.
This was the hotter of the two runs. the other run I logged with my Interceptor and saw 149 as a high IAT2 temperature. But I did have some knock on the first run with the Interceptor where as the second run was knock free.
I think with fans for the Cobra heat exchanger this could be even more effective. Also, I am unsure if it is possible to upgrade the pump but that may be a possibility.

What size blower pulley are you using? The smaller the pulley the higher the post blower temperature is going to be.
Your AIT1 seems high. What was the ambiant temperature? If you look at ENUFPWR's AIT1's they are 3-5 degrees above ambiant for all his tests. Yours seem higher. What intake are you using? Cold air or not?
If the Cobra exchanger is mounted well forward of the radiator/A/C condenser/heat exchanger assembly there is a possabilty that the Cobra HE is heating up the air going into the engine intake hence high AIT1's.

I am not sure why my IAT1s are so high. I noticed it too since normally they are close to ambient temperature. Ambient temperature was around 80. I have a cold air intake but I am not sure how the Cobra heat exchanger would affect it since it sits in the wheel well.

My guess at the AIT1 temperature rise. Unless the Cobra HE is ducted to the Radiator/A/C condenser/heat exchanger assembly so all flow goes from the nose/motor bulkhead area to the engine compartment you are heating up the air behind the Cobra in the common front area where your air intake happens to be.
ENUFPWR is running a stock HE directly in front of and tight to the A/C condenser. All the hot air goes through the stack and into the engine compartment and his AIT1's stay low.

I am making the brackets finally tonight for the LFP HE and won't be able to actually test out the temp drop just yet. BUT I will be adding in the coolant chiller that was released by DEI...they're only $9 a bottle with free shipping and you just mix one bottle in...I bought 3 because I will have the ice box and HE in eventually.

I ran accross a data log of a 1/4 mile drag run you posted on another list. It seems to have been done before you added the second HE.
Ambiant seems to be about 82 ish judging from the 86 F AIT1 down the track.
At the start
AIT1 104 F AIT2 131 Got a little hot in the staging area !
Top of second
AIT1 90 F AIT2 153
Top of 3rd
AIT1 86 F AIT2 178
Boy does that 2.5" pully heat things up.
I know the two runs are not exactly apples to apples but compared to your posted data above this is a significant improvement in intercooler efficiancy. Seems like the Laminova's have plenty of extra heat transfer capacity to take advantage of the additionl HE.

Just posted this in my thread but will add it here.
Just installed a custom 2nd heat exchanger, looks sinilar to the Cobra HE.
With this and water injection, 80deg ambient, I had a IAT2 temp of 127 degrees on 0 to 100mph blast!
Car felt really strong!

I should be installing a different custom made lfp h/c on friday if it comes in on time... I was wondering If I could just run that and delete the stock heat exchanger all together to free up some space on the radiator.. It measure 20x7x3 and I will be installing 2 fans on it on a switch inside the car... also installing a larger resovior and braided lines with larger an fittings.... hopefully I'll have some data to post this weekend... just looking for some opinions... and if all goes well I'll be selling the stock h/c if anyone is interested.
