The best they have here is 91, so thats what I have to use. Thats probably about 'mid-grade' for alot of you. My car runs well on it, but I think it could be a little better.

Now, as far as the SRT's go. I have yet to lose to one. I had GM stg2 and CAI and raced one with BOV, Intake and not sure what else, pretty close to stock, and I didn't know I had Stg2 so I was shiftin 500 rpms sooner then I could have and I was reeling him in.
Second race was after I found out I had Stg2 and added 2.79 pulley. He had Stg2 exhaust, intake, BOV and I think that was about it. Not sure if he was just shifting early or what, but I beat him by about half car to a full car each time, from a roll and dig. He got me from a dig then I slowly caught an crept past but he held me to about a half to full car lenght. ALOT depends on driver.

oh and to drive faster short shifting is the way to go..... like this 1st to 5000rpm, 2nd to 6200, and wind out third unless your going beyond 100 to 105 MPH then shift at 6200. why? torque curve drops at about 5800 to 6000 rpm, and it is best to be in the high torque right.
I went to 6800 rpm each gear and did 14.2 best. did some strategic shifting as noted above..... I got the 13.9. Try it and PM me your results. I would be interested.

I'll have to look into the shifting suggestion. Always open to constructive criticism, even though I haven't lost yet. Yet being the key word. lol...
Thats what GM wants you to think...
Anywayz..GM HIGHLY reccomends high octane in the SS/SC's stock. Once you get into modding them, then you won't have much of a choice but to stay with the high octane, unless you want to have motor problems from detonation and what not.

The best stock SRT-4 runs like a 13.6?! Stage 2 Balts have been proven to do 13.6-13.7 by several guys on this forum. It at least makes a little more even! Oh, I forgot you are the ultimate SRT-4 fanboi so in you small mind, that is not possible!
You vanished for some time now but I have noticed your nonsense again recently. Why don't you vanish again?!

Gas may be expensive, but premium only averages about 20-25 cents more than regular around here, and thats the 93 stuff.
Most cobalt guys put in about 10-11 gallons per fill up. So every fill up, your only saving about $2-2.5 by using regular.
So you can afford a 20K car but cant afford an extra 2 bucks every week?
Its a mental thing man. Treat your cobalt right and use premium.

When I'm good and ready to break out of the 14's, I will. Until then, my near stock car's clutch is just fine. People who burn up their clutch when being near stock have only themselves to blame. I have a feeling you were one of those people who did in your once stock SRT-4.

I had no problems with the stock clutch in the neon. I guess Dodge decided to put decent clutches in its family cars.
