I did a few calculations...
The car weighs in at 1005 pounds. Let's assume 1250 pounds with fuel and driver.
With 360 WHP, which is the output of our S20G TurboSystem @ 22 PSI boost on pump gas, here's the projected numbers:
8.80 seconds @ 155 MPH in the 1/4 mile.
But wait! That's just with a stock engine and 60# injectors/returnless. Bolus' Atom will have a built engine, 71# injectors with pressure compensation (return style). So he could easily achieve 15-20% more power, which is about the upper limit of the S20G. Let's look at those numbers again, shall we?
With 425 WHP:
8.35 seconds @ 163 MPH in the 1/4 mile.
About spot-on with one of my turbocharged Hayabusa streetbikes. HFS

Thanks for the comments guys
Just so you guys know my inspiration, here is my main challenger. This is a rotrex supercharged honda Atom making 475hp and yes, he has formula atlantic slicks on his car
I've got a few questions about the paddle shifter now. Here is what I know. I'm getting a shifter than replicates sequential shifting with the paddles but keeps the same transmission. Basically, it is a box that hooks up the the existing shift cables and when you hit the paddle it moves it into the appropriate gear. You keep your clutch pedal
You can either get a paddle or a gear shifter that has the feel of a regular sequential gear shifter (just front back motion to go up or down through the gears)
Now on an Atom that can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds you really cant shift fast enough
My builder in oregon (Unique Fabricating - giving them another plug ) can put this into a Cobalt

Ah, but the box goes in the cockpit. The cables attach to it instead of the shifter. In a Balt, it could be placed on the passenger footbox floorboard, under the carpet. Your passenger would lose a couple inches legroom. Sanitary!

TMI just took over US production so the website isn't updated. We're not sure how much they'll cost but probably in the $60K-$120K depending on options. I was lucky and got the #6 Atom out of Brammo when it costs a lot less. Mine would be $30K more if I tried to buy it today.

Hmm at $120k I'd rather have a Carrera S...
But let's face it, nothing is as fast as an atom, except atom variants... that thing on top gear was hilarious, Clarkson's cheeks looked like the guy who rode that rocket on railroad tracks back in the 50's... haha
