autometer cobalt mechanical boost gauge
so i just installed my boost gauge today and i love it. very snappy and looks great. only 2 things. when just starting in first when im still in vacuum, the needle is very shakey looking. is that normal? and also its a little bright. i have it hooked up to the pink wire for the positive and the black wire for the ground. should it still dim with the dimmer knob? tell me what you think??

If u jave the cobalt series its actuall eletrical gauge yes u have a vacuum line to the map sensor from the autometer package. But its not a true mechanical
I have a mechanical gauge myself I don't use a.d it directly goes to a vacuum source from the gauge to the line. About it being shaky. U can have a loose vacuum line, ow compression, sticky valve, bad tune ect.

this gauge sees whats happening in real time too. it doesnt take forever to the needle to get to where its going. you floor it and it jumps right there

irrc the cobalt gauges are not mechanical, they're electronic but don't have a remote sending unit. ie, the gauge needle is still moved by electricity even though there's a vac line running into the gauge. I just dont understand why people keep buying autometer gauges, they're super expensive and the still use shitty incandescent lights inside... and they're sold at autozone, instant turn off as to their quality.
