Well I don't know which is the best but I run the XTC 2.5" downpipe with a CAT and it bolts up nice to the GM exhaust. No issues at all.

Definitily get a CAT no matter what downpipe you pick.
Your exhaust won't sound as raspy and you can pass emissions.

There is a pic of the XTC downpipe in my garage.

EDIT: Here is a link to the downpipe. Just click on HEADERS

I have had tow xtc d/p's when i had my car, one with cat, to loud for me, and without, which my car was pushing to much boost for a cat and melted it, but either way xtc is a good choice.

Agreed I have ZZP 2.5 down pipe without cat, including the ZZP Header. It has an awesome sound with the GMPP Sport catback.

Their site is under the Vendor Index

you might want to think about a header or the GM honed manifold while getting the downpipe and exhaust. you can get it all done at once.

Would the zzp downpipe bolt to a magnaflow catback or will the piping size matter? I read some reviews off of the zzperformance website on this downpipe and people are saying it whistles whenever they get on the gas with the high flow cat? They even said they couldnt stand it so they put their stock cat back on.

What size is the piping of the magna flow? It may depend on that.

Either way I think it will. They have a 3in and 2.5 version
