Bleeding h/e question

Here's a question I have that hasn't really been addressed on adding a h/e.

I get that bleeding the h/e is necessary to get air out of the system but since the surge tank already has an atmospheric purge near the cap doesn't that mean it's pointless to bleed the system because as you drive the system should automatically bleed itself when the air get's to the surge tank.

Is bleeding necessary or just a waste of time? Someone point out the epic fail in my logic.

i think you had it right by saying when u drive it around after the install.. the surge tank went down ALOT!!! in just about 20 seconds of driving...

refilled twice before it stopped moving....
