Boost Control

Boost Control
How do you guys control what boost you run on the car? Can you use boost controllers with a SC? or does the pulley set you at a certain level of boost and you are stuck there unless you upgrade the pulley?
Sorry, never looked into SC's before only turbos so this is a stupid question but just wondering how you guys raise or lower your boost.

Just to also clarify...
Boost controllers are for turbocharged systems. What it does is delay the actuator signal to the wastegate making it open later...hence your turbocharger will be spinning faster before the exhaust flow is diverted to maintain a certain turbine speed. The more delay, the more boost that can ultimately be created.

you can limit the boost in the first and second gear with HP tuners.
i have mine set at 10 psi in first gear. helps a ton! second is wide open, i dont have traction issues in second.

Try my car with over 350 ft of torque on the stock size rims and all season tires. Trust me, you will have traction issues in 2nd. LOL
Ok, so what I see at the moment is that you are restricted to whatever max boost based on size of the pulley you are running. That kind of sucks. Ok, good info to know. I will keep that in mind with helping with my friends SS/SC.

LOL, that is because you are only pushing 233 ft of torque. LOL Just kidding. Those aren't bad numbers for a cobalt 260 something hp. not bad.

the gxp on the other had, it had violent torque steer at 75-80 mph. to the point where i almost hit a friends supra because of the initial hit from the bottle

Not trying to start a torque war here LOL. At stock torque I didn't have as much of a traction problem. Now I do. Haven't been to the dyno since I installed the new turbo so I don't know where I stand with power at the moment. Should find out on June 9th.
Anyway back on topic. Boost controller, ok so you can't use a MBC to control boost like in an SRT-4 or WRX, STi, etc.... right?

That's what I thought too, so I bought one. It can only disable boost completely or let it be 100%. It's adjustable, and I couldn't make it useful. My car is slow without boost.

Lol this is funny, it's turned into a who's got more torque pissing contest. Hey let's start the who's got the biggest dick contest and who's got the most money contest too!
LMAO at the people who have "big torque", come on guys....

a 2.5 pulley with a ported blower 60lbs injectors and a perfect tune u can run 23 to 24psi but u better invest in every cooling mod axels , and run drag radials cuz the stock tires wont catch traction till 3rd if ur lucky
