Boost leak?
I haven't been on the forums for a while and I was wondering, did anyone ever figure out why some cobalts have boost leaks?
I have an 05 ss with a 2.8 pulley on 50lb injectors, gmp exhaust and an aem short intake. I had my tune done as well and I should be hitting 18psi but i'm not. It'll spike to 18psi I think but then fall to 16 at OT.
To actually stay at 18psi I had to disconnect one of the hoses on my bypass valve... Yeah I know it's not good but I was trying to rule some things out...
What's going on here?

PCM is bleeding off boost automatically when it senses your AITs are really hot. Happened to me. I was running a 2.6 with no cooling mods...would only let me see 15lbs then bleed it off to 11. In all seriousness tho 16 is what i see on a 2.8 with the bypass mod...but i also have about the most free flowing exhaust there is, short or cutting the muffler off. If i was catted/res it would maybe hit 18... I think your fine how it sets. Just get some cooler temps or turn off the boost inhibit with hp tuners if you wanna risk it
