Boost Vacuum Line

Hey guys I am installing my Mechanical Boost Gauge, and I don't know where to T into the boost vacuum line. Where is it located? A picture would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks for your time.
Zach.

I can't get the gauge installed without your guys help. Please post a pic or a link or something to let me know where the vacuum line is on my 2006 chevy cobalt ss/sc 2.0. Thanks.

I saw that, is it the BIG line, or the smaller line?

its not the small line coming off of the boost bypass. its the bigger line coming from the intake manifold

Did you have any other trouble installing the gauge? I bought quite a few different gauges and my buddy and I started to install my fuel pressure gauge and were having a problem with that, so we are just moving to the rest of the gauges.

Mechanical boost gauge, Wideband o2 gauge, interceptor gauge, and the fuel gauge we will do tomorrow.

when you feed the vacuum line off of the gauge through the firewall, it is a really tight fit to reach it. i recommend using a wire hanger...works awesome. also try not to pinch the line anywhere and cut to length when you get it to reach the vacuum tube

Thanks. My buddy (Turbo06Sedan) installed many boost gauges before. He was just unsure of where the vacuum line was on our cars.

Just an update. Tim got my boost gauge installed and fully functional, and he also got the interceptor gauge installed and fully functional. He did install the Fuel Pressure Gauge, however we need a 7/16 to 1/4 female to female fitting i believe to go from the fuel pressure rail to the fuel sending unit. The one that came with the gauge didn't fit right, and then we tried to tap it, no luck. Either way, I am sure sometime today we will go to K&K hardware and get the right part to install it and have that done. Later on today he will install the wideband o2 gauge and have it all wired up and ready for when my header comes on wednesday. Then all we have left is the injen cold air intake which is simple, then the wiring for the aem meth kit, then tapping the cold air and installing the meth, and then re-wiring the projectors and putting the hid kit on. Then hopefully my header/downpipe/cat will be here by wednesday and the shop can install that along with my eibach sportline springs for 100bucks and then we will plug in the wideband and do some dyno runs.

I will keep everyone updated in my "Go big or Go Home thread." but simply wanted to thank you for helping me and let you know that the gauge is in and working, thanks again.

Wastegate Vacuum Line

I have been having trouble with hitting stock boost for months now. I have stock airbox, hks cat back exhaust and a BOV. I have been hitting 6 lbs of boost for months, sometimes I can hit nine when the car is cold but it will drop to 6 always. I checked for vacuum leaks and made sure all the hoses on the TMIC and turbo where on and snug. I felt the vacuum that goes to my stock waste gate and it broke right off like a cracker. It was to short to put the vacuum back on so I went to auto zone to get it replaced. On the way I gave it gas and I hot 14lbs boost strong, almost broke loose on the tires when it hit 14lbs. the engine light did come on but I was still pushing 14lbs. I reinstalled the new vacuum line to the wastegate and what do you know... im back at 6 lbs?

Hey I had my injen intake installed in memphis tennessee by extreme auto they told me the design was junk and that the mass air flow was way to close to the filter. stage 3 vibrant exhauxt and header it dynoed at 241 hp that was a 13 hp loss over the modded stock air box. so i took some advice and bought fujita awsome much better fit and i picked 3 hp from 2200 to 4000 and a peak of 8hp over the stock air box total 262 hp 17psi and no cooling mods cant wait to see what advancing the timing will do when i get the after cooler mods. Oh and my car has some issues at 6000 rpm my boost will start falling back like to 14psi by 7000
