brake setup opinion

I was thinking about going with the CA brake kit for my SS/SC. Any opinions on this setup?

the Z06 calipers use individual brake pads per piston. what a nightmare. Go with the factory Brembo's or that wilwood kit.

CA Big Brake kit Offers everything you need for a inexpensive conversion. This kit is assembled using High Quality Wilwood brake Calipers. Kit is assembled with 12.8" front rotors with 4 piston Wilwood calipers . Rear kit offers 12.8" rear rotors with 4 piston Wilwood calipers. These kits come with stainless steel brake lines , machined caliper brackets , brake pads and all nuts and bolts for mounting . Clearance from outer hub to caliper is 1.5" for the front rim, so check rim fitment(may need spacers).May work with stock rims but will work with most 18" rims!! Rear kit eliminates the parking brake currently.
Front Kit in Stock , Rear special order 4 weeks

CA FRONT Big brake kit : Your Price: $699.99 USD + $39.99 Shipping

CA REAR Big brake KIT : Your Price: $799.99 USD + $39.99 Shipping

both front and rear use the same rotors and calipers?

I don't think that's smart...

SO? The rears are much smaller than the front. And they are that way for a reason, the number of pistons is irrelevant.

For similar dollars, the OEM front brembo upgrade is 100% superior to the Wilwood aftermarket set up. I like Willwood I use their 570 brake fluid for race applications its an excellent product well priced. But you will find it difficult to beat the quality of the OEM Brembo brake components....

yeah i know but i was thinking a little different path. Everyone seems to be jumping on the brembo bandwagon and i was just thinking outside the box.

I understand where you are coming from, but sometimes, inside the box is better. and how many folks have actually upgraded? and you can powdercoat if you want to stand out from the crowd and add floating rotors like I did... last thing, what carries more feng shui? Brembo or Wilwood? lol

I want your rotors. Not that i need them, i like bling.

p.s. where can i get some of those nifty rubber bleeder covers? My bleeder screws are rusting like gangbusters. Will the dealer have them?

that wonderful sea breeze. Things actually rust very easily here, i wash my vehicles at least once a week to keep the salt off. It's kinda ridiculous.

I still have a variety of setups available for both the SS and na cars. Have not posted much here in quite some time as the shop's been busy with other platforms and sadly this one has not been terribly busy. Not sure totally why but I'm sure the economy has something to do with it and the simple fact is that $1200-1500 remains costly for a lot of folks.

Altered the product line a bit also of late and don't see any further expansion on this one right now. Custom work is always an option of course.
