just got my v2(waiting to install too cold out in NY), most people say it adds alot of top end
and id say you would get anywhere from 8 to 15hp with downpipe depending on mods

It was cheap, and that's about the only good thing I can say about the V2. Lost a lot of torque. Better then stock though I guess.

Most people have told me mid to high range power.

Never heard of a header making you lose power before, unless it isnt on right.

i lost some low-mid range torque with my pacesetter but the top end pulls much better. The v1's a short header right?

Ya it's a shorty. Didn't say I lost power, I lost low-mid torque, in a quite noticable way. It is better on top.

We'll see how it goes, it wasnt alot of money, so if I dont like it I can just replace it.

It looks b.a. now though, since it is painted.

Cant wait to try it out.

no its not. the ca header has actual tubes for the primaries therefore it flows easier. a ported exhaust mani such as the gm extrude mani is pretty bunched up, therefore not making as much torque as a real tubed primary header would.

The stock exhaust manifold is way more restrictive. Even porting it wont put it anywhere near my CA v2 header. PLus i ported my header. Smoothed out some of the welds and cleaned it up a bit. No stock manifold can even compare.

the ca headers like 175 and the gm extrude is like 300? what you mean its not worth the money? and getting your stock mani ported is like 75-100 bucks....ca header makes sense to me. i have the ca 2.5inch dp w/cat and i love it. but im takin it off and gettin the catless one for more torque and the ca header....for more torque...

Painted? Mine came polished SS. Also stock header is 4-2-1 and CA is 4-1 equal length. I'm mostly upset cause mine came with the flange that bolts to the header warped 3/16 of and inch. Even though it is "guaranteed against warpage" CA would do nothing for me and said it was "normal". I fixed it but it left a bad impression of CA in my books.

I got a very good price on a used one, and I wanted it to look clean. So I bought some header paint.

Looks good to me. I was about to add some pictures to my gallery.

Well i installed the CA v1 header and it started leaking coolant... i just barely loosened one nut and the leak stopped. going to wait a few days and see if i get anymore leaks. has anybody else have this problem before? if i get more leaks just going to change out the header to the v2.. just wondering what other peoples input is..

Quick Reply: CA V1 header.
