can anyone with gm stage two help me....
I just had gm stage 2 installed yesterday. ive read that it allows the redline to be set at 7200 instead of 6500 stock. the dealrship that installed it gave me some **** about doing it but eventually after wringing the managers neck i got it installed for the price they originaly quoted 787 installed for everything. well my car is still cutting fuel at 6500 so what could this mean? did they forget to tune it did they tune it and not set the redline correct? is it gonna mess my engine up? It runs alot better pushing 15 psi but i need to know if everyone else has had a similar problem. thanks

Redline should be 7k not 7200. If your hitting the limiter at 6500 then it has not been flashed with the stage 2 tune and you need to go back to the dealer immeditatiley! Driving as is right now with the new 42lb injectors means your running super rich and will clog your cat if you keep driving. I imagine the car is running like **** right now.
Tell the managers to call GM if they give you a hassle and explain why they've put you at risk of car failure for not doing the install properly.

I had the EXACT problem. They didn't flash it. And I had to argue with them over and over.
They kept saying "well where does it say the rev limiter is supposed to increase to 7000"

Go to:
http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web
Type in your vin
Click get "CAL ID"
Click on "PCM/VCM"
Click on "NEXT"
Click on "Complete History"
This will show what your current calibration SHOULD be. (Providing they registered it as stage 2 with the techline)
So print that, take it with you, and ask them to give you a printout of whats on the car. It should match what the printout says under the "Engine" and "Engine Diagnostic" section.
In this case, it probably won't, and that proves they didn't do it.

man thanks so much im gonna give this to them for sure. so the codes under the enginge/diagnostics list should match and display it when they plug into the car then correct? if they did it right of course.

And when you take your car down to the daelership they plug in their tech-2 scan device and read what is actually on the car, and they can print it out.
So their printout should match yours.. (but it won't) at which point you say to them "See, I don't have the correct calibration (flash)"
What year is your car?

Yup. And it is possible that they flashed the car, but the flash sisn't take properly. Crate Engine Depot sasy you may have to reflash it in this case (providing they actually did it in the first place...)

I was lucky with my install, except they didn't give me the tool to remove the blue bolts. If I'm not mistaken part of the instructions is the whole reflash. Did you get all your old parts back. You should get the pulley, belt, and injectors that were taken off the car, pretty sure Texas law requires they return those to you when you ask. They are your parts after all...

Yes, only the "Engine" and "Engine Diagnostic" are the ones to look at.

Mine is an 06 also, which is why I asked, so if you go to the website. The calibration listed for you should be:
"Engine"
12614060 00008A2E - Diagnostic enhancement for DTC P071 and P0507.
and
"Engine Diagnostic"
12616351 0000A169 - New calibration with diagnostic enhancements for DTC P0449.

No the part number for the flash in the instructions isn't the calibration number.
