well... fucked my car up last night... wasn't planning on going out, ended up being talked into it... on the way home it blew the coupler off the tb so hard that it dented my hood and knocked some paint off... so I guess I"ll be ordering a cf hood. Broke the damn t-bolt the other day so I had a worm clamp there... Guess 22psi has some force behind it

i thought i blew mine up last night after a 140 mph run. smelled out. turns out, it was a car way up the road that was dumping it.

use hairspray on your couplers.

lol... need someone to hold the camera,
that hairspray idea sounds pretty good... might try it out. Probably rip the whole car apart again next weekend and go over everything to get it all good for the dyno on the 25th. Might even get some runs in next friday night.

**** was scary last night when it happened. all I heard was a really loud bang from the engine compartment, car wasn't making any boost and my cruising afr was a 10.0:1 had to keep speeding up and slowing down to keep it from flooding out (33 mile ride home) didn't realize what happened til I got back home

Did you clean out your underwear yet? I sure hope so because I know I would've **** my pants if that happened.

Paul do you have welded beads or a lip on your charge pipes to prevent the coupler from blowing off? We had to do that on my buddies WRX, and I did it on my Integra. Since then he hasn't blown a coupler, and I have never blown one. I also use constant tension clamps instead of t-bolt ones.

lol yeah came close to poopin the pants right there.... but I expanded all the ends with a pipe expander to make the seal really tight. Just so happens I had put on the bigger TB the other day and didn't have a 3.5" t-bolt clamp so I had used a worm gear clamp...... guess which one blew lol. But yeah when I do all the piping over for the gt3076 I"ll have lips welded on all the piping ends.

Sounds good man. I figured you would have already done it, but I was just double checking. So... when you are done with the .57 trim turbo, what are your plans for it? I think I might know someone that has a need for one possibly. Send me a PM please.

Cool man. Turbo swaps FTW! I wish my Cobalt even ran right now... I'm getting slowly depressed more and more about it too. At least my Integra is keeping me going, but I am 8 hours away from that too right now.

Still waiting on my new blower, redesigned snout, return of my throttle body and pressure sensor, and new intake to come to me. I've been down since mid August and it's freaking killing me. I only have 2-3 weeks after I get back home on Friday until I have to leave for two more weeks of training, and then shortly after that it's off to the "sand box" again for 6 months! I really want to go cruising again before I leave too! I need my stuff back because I still have to finish tuning the car, and I also need to get my methanol kit trouble shoot and spraying right again so I can get my damn 300+WHP on the heartbreaker Mustang dyno I go to! I will have it once and for all! End Rant...

Did you fix the couper today? I hope she is up and running strong again.

oh definitely

Car is back up and running as of yesterday afternoon, some on guys you know I waste no time lol.
As for the hood looking to get a cf oem style... keeping the car clean and simple on the outside... maybe tints too down the line but that's it.
Car is atill running a little funky though. now my idle afr keeps bouncing. Gotta go over everything again soon to find any leaks if there are any
