I'm telling you turbo is the way to go on a 4 banger.... just that plain and simple. Plus now with less low end tq the car is much easier to get off the line.
as for lag, when I first set the car up I was hitting full boost from 3k up, unfortunately I blew out the manifold gasket on cylinders 1&2 so it's not spooling as fast, but it still isn;t that bad. doesnt have the instant boost of the s/c, but the few extra seconds it takes is well worth it cause the car pulls like an animal, even at only 14 psi it was faster than my s/c setup at 21psi and every bolt on.

You can boost a 2.4 just ot as high but you don't need to cause the larger displacment makes the same power levels and makes more torque. Look what happens with the blower swap from a 2.0 to a 2.4. Boost levels drop due to the larger engine BUT it makes the same hp if not more then the 2.0 does and it makes more tq then a 2.0 running a stage 2 kit. I'm not knocking the 2.0 but remember thers NO replacement for displacment.
And outperformz which was the original swap back in early 06 (Rebel/tag turbo)
dyno in the 400 to 450 wheel power range!

right now just helping them devlop the kit and get the tuning done. Once that's finished I'm pretty much ripping most of the stuff out and switching to an ls7 maf.
just a side note... turned the boost up tonight to 19psi just to see what it would do. 4th gear pull..... holy boost batman. Even at only partial throttle, car is a hell of a lot faster than it was with the s/c, like scary faster hit 120mph before I even knew what was happening. mind you this is stil not tuned all the way, and I still can't go more than 60% throttle

I can't wait to see what kind of #'s come out of this setup.
BTW, i'm not running so rich with these cool temps. She is now pulling hard.

damn acid your ignorant.. the engine in the sky/ solstice is the LE5 engine.. the engine in the 2.4 balt/ion is... wait for it .. a LE5 engine... face it... the 2.4 boosted is very efficient.. talk to hahn who's put out their 240WHP base 2.4 turbo kit.. and they have a 20G stage 2 upgrade... thats definately over 250 WHP... man you're dense.

no your dense.. 250whp...i make > that on stage 2... where are these 400hp 2.4s..hell 300.. hell 275...??? i dont give a **** what solstice/sky has in it... is that a cobalt SS.. no it is not.. woulda coulda shoulda... chevy put a 350 in about every car for years.. so what? that is still different cars.. dont cross jump when discussing.. this is cobalt 2.0 cobalt 2.4 STOCK motor/car comparison on potential .. i see 2.0 > 400 and multiple >300 runs.. i have yet to see a coby 2.4 > 250.. so get back on "topic"... hahn offers coby 2.4 Stage packages fo 250hp.. wonder why he doesnt offer the same kits as the 2.4 sky/solstice if it is "identical"... hm.. for somebody who wants to act like king ****.. you have some holes to fill since everything is "identical"

the reason the don't have the same kits.. surprise....not the whole chassis is the same... do you really think that a 2.4L balt will survive at 400 HP on stock axles... and such.. the balts not RWD so there other things play into the kit then just the engine.. seriously
and the main hahn kit produces 240 WHP... you really think he stage 2 only produces 10 HP more LOL
nice swap paul you wouldn't by anychance be going to the extreme rides car show in poughkeepsie on sunday would you?

wow lots to answer lol.
running 60lber's right now, IDC's are way down too, but as of yet I stil can't go WOT or else it drops below a 10:1 afr due to the piping size.
car show Sunday I won't be able to make due to lack of funds and need to fix the exhaust leak on the balt this weekend, which includes me taking everything basically back off the car.
I will be up at DPA (well ruby's) tomorrow night @9:30, can't stay up there too late though since I gotta work saturday morning.
yeah Tony that's why I set u up a little rich anyway, but if you ever got a chance to swing through, now that you got the wideband in the car we can do some more fine tuning.

Congrats on the setup man, sounds like the car is going to be a beast when done and you get it tuned in I'm heading to the track again with my car on the 7th to see if I can manage a bit better traction. I've got some new 16's for the front and some stickier tires so we will see. Right now my biggest issue is the wheel spin... I absolutely can't get the car to launch right and get any better than a 2.5 60ft ughhhh

I'll see if her and Kenny are heading up there this weekend.
My manifold flange got a little warped, so I'm gonna pull it off and get it milled flat again. put in a new gasket, and it should be good to go. It's just a total bitch getting the turbo in and out of the car. Room is, well, non existant.
drop your tire pressure to 23-25psi, and reduce boost in 1st gear to @70% (test it out btwn runs) and you should be able to get it better. My friend pulled a 2.0 60' on stock tires, so it can be done. (not saying I did though, I managed a best of 2.1 on stock tires)

of course, car's only been running for less than a week, and I still need to change the piping around (I work 60 hours a week at my full time job), so time I have to work on the car is limited, but it is getting there. Hopefully have some solid dyno numbers in about 2 weeks.
