car running too rich
#7
The other posts I've looked through seem to indicate the OP running an intense PCM for his new mods and then a few weeks ago switching to a ZZP flash.
There is a thread about having an exhaust leak with liquid coming out? Another about losing 2 pounds of boost after installing the injectors. And another about gas mileage dropping by a 1/3.
The PCM ordered from us is slated:
ZZP LSJ PCM
Year of your car:2007
Model:Cobalt Supercharged
Core charge:I'm sending in my core first
Option 1:I am running 60# injectors
Option 2:aftermarket CAI
Option 3:I am not running a meth inj kit
Option 4:50% 1st gear boost reduction
Option 5:Tuned for stock throttle body
If you look on the PCM, there should be a sticker with the options listed and a revision code letter. We've done a lot of that year so I would lean more towards the car than the PCM. You can send back the PCM for an update but I suggest emailing us to work through the problems first. If there is a vacuum leak or some other issue and we tune the PCM around the problem, it won't really be right.
I wouldn't be too quick to judge. Let's find out if something is wrong with the car. And if you think about it, 99% of all Cobalts running have the same "canned" tune. May not be perfect but it shouldn't be throwing codes.

anyway to check for vacum leaks???? and yes im running the zzp tune now, and with the intense tune the check engine light was on all the time with those codes, with zzp tune it only comes on every once and awhile, i would say the zzp tune is way better but i just really wanna stop this running rich problem

take the intake off. build a home depot special, boost leak tester to fit over the tb. {for reference please see www.dsm.org} pressurize the system with the tb open to about 5 psi. nothing major. this will take two people due to DBW setup. listen for leaks. take a bottle of soapy water and spray down suspected leaks.
or the old redneck way of doing it. take carb cleaner and hose down suspected leak area's
