Cat Converter or Ingalls ETD causing issue?
When I first start the car it shakes and sounds sort of like a Subaru with an exhaust. After a moment or so though, she quiets down to a lovely purr. Now the exhaust is producing a good amount of smoke during this rough idle period as well. I believe it's the ETD making the engine think it's receiving knock and retarding the timing until it settles down. The other issue is that a couple weeks ago, the car ran like total crap and barely went anywhere. I let the car cool down at my buddies house, and when I left the car ran great but I did hear a metallic clang when I left like something blew out the exhaust and hit the ground.
Do you guys think I blew the inside of the cat out, and since I have a Corsa it just left the exhaust completely? Or do you guys think it's the ETD causing a false knock retard? The car runs great, so I'm not really complaining, I'm just curious. It was a free mod if the cat blew out!
