cat or no cat

that is the question

well did you use hptuners to disable the 02 sensor so you could run catless?

just wondering what people did with their exhaust personally i would like to run catless
but you know how that OBII wiring/ecu is sigh
i don't have hptuners atm but i know i could use a 02 sensor relay(can't remember the right word for it) i've used it before wasn't too bad

just trying to get some insight

thanks

is it possible to keep from throwing the engine code??? or to clear it?
doesn't having the code thrown effect overall performance?

Dude, run a cat. You will not pass emissions without it plus if you don't have HPTuners you will have a CEL all the time. A catless exhaust usually sounds raspy unless there are a good amount of supporting mods. Also in reality not having a cat is worth 2-3hp at the most. Running a cat also helps keep some low end torque.

i could careless how loud it is, i love to scare old people
i used to have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee LTD with the 318 motor i had a short ram intake on it 2.75" exhaust straight piped from each header with no cats, i loved it
it was so much fun to drive, i care more about performance and deep scarey sound than anything else
also it had that 02 simulator in place of the cat lol there we go i remembered the name
i rather have the 2-10hp gain than to keep on there or would a hi-flow cat be just as good i just don't want anything that has that honeycomb ****

also i live in florida, there's no emissions test in the state of florida, florida voted that **** out of our state about 15 or so years ago

Another benefit of not runing a cat is, you can run race gas.

If you remove your cat, and have proper sound deadening then it shouldn't have rasp. It will be really loud though, nothing you can do about that
My exhaust has no cat and good sound dampening so it has no rasp but is still loud as FU**! Click the link in my sig to hear it.

It depends on the the muffler you have. I have the stock resonator and a magnaflow muffler and it sounds awesome without the cat.

HPTuner got rid of the CEL as well.

I don't have a cat, and the sound doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't sound that bad.

Bamfnss, very nice vid. Sounds great with the set up you have. I would go catless also. Besides, it saves cash not having to buy a high flow cat. I'll just a lick and stick for inspection from my friends garage. Only prob is if I have any issues taking it to the dealer without a cat, lol.
