Cat Question...

From my experience, my cat doesn't even like to have her nails trimmed. I'd hate to imagine what she'd do if someone tried to hollow her out!!!!!!
j/k Honestly it depends. I don't think you'll see much difference. Most people I know that run either catless or with hollowed out cats did so because they were running too rich and clogging the cat. Gutting it would leave the shell there so you'd be more likely to pass visual inspection if pulled over whereas a catless downpipe would definitely catch attention. Don't exactly know what gains you'd see, but as for codes, you can probably disable any codes it may throw with HPTuners.

just get a new down pipe.
the car will sound like crap without the cat, and the stock downpipe was a flaten section that completly screws the flow of your exhaust.
your best bet is to buy a new one and sell it to the people with 2.2L. it's a great mod for them and it will help pay for your new one
