Sure, do what you believe in, but I've had my synthetic oil tested at 1 year when I changed it for the past 5 years on 1 car, 3 years on another and 2 years on the 3rd (cause its free) and NONE of them showed it needing to be changed sooner than that for breakdown as none of my synthetic oil cars get driven over 6-8K per year. My other cars I change about every year also using Mobil1 extended 7500 dino/syn blend as they get driven about 6K miles a year and a once a year change is what Mobil1 recommends.
Each situation is different of course, but I feel perfectly comfortably doing it once a year on those 3 cars, but im sure pretty much everyone on here will feel they need to change their oil every 3K or 6 months. Go for it.

well you cant argue with facts, but i know what my mobil 1 looks like after 5000-7000 miles.

Like I said every instance/engine will be different and depending if you take a lot of short trips when car doesnt warm up fully the oil will suffer more.
There is nothing wrong with changing it every 6 months or 3K if one wants to for peace of mind as its only $30 and a $5 filter so its not like breaking the bank. When I change the Balts oil at 10% which will probably be around 8K total on the oil and maybe 8 months time, ill send it out to be tested also and go fromthere for next change.
