i have the stock exhaust but i have put in a highflow cat and a non restrictive magnaflow muffler with 4in tip. i`m wondering what would be the best header to put on my setup?

does it matter which header i buy as far as fitting on to the stock exhaust. and which 1 flows the absolute best? im actually seeing a GMPP honed header for $100 is that a good choice? especially seeing as its $100.

IMO the honed manifold from GM is worthless. You need buy a header if you want to see better gains. Also you have some options to choose. If you choose a midlength header you need to get a different downpipe which ZZP sells as one unit. Or you can go with a shorty header which is the same length as the stock manifold so a new downpipe is not needed. My advise to you would to just look around on some of the supporting vendors websites and checkout your options and prices.

Cti is the way to go for the header. Don't go the same path I bought an entire exhaust system and then decided its not a large enough diameter piping for me and also gm's system is not the way you wanna go if you wanna build real TQ. Just look at the time attack cobalt for your reference to building a great ss/sc.

if you want to keep your down pipe go shorty.
with a shorty you wont gain much , but its better than stock.
if you want the most gain go full length or mid Length.
with a full length you would lose low end tq but gain alot upper mid and up top (were it matters)
with a mid length you get a nice compromise, you get good mid range and good top end and the low end doesn't suffer to much for daily driving.
these are the most common and poplar headers for the ss.
clear image has two mid length headers. if i wasn't broke when i broke my down pipe i would have most likely gone with them. there prices seem fair and there quality seems to be pretty good.
now as far as what brand, thats all up to you. most people only buy one header, and don't know what the others are like. I'm running the pacesetter ,its the same as the ZZP but with a different flange. i went my way because I'm cheap, lol. but just do some research and find out what works best for you, and i know I'm gonna get jumped on for this but, each brand of the same type of header will probably offer similar performance numbers. so base your choice of of quality and price and what suites your needs.
