i have a friend who is running that setup right now and it sounds raspy and too loud for his taste. what could we do to make it not as loud and more like stock sound?

doesn't really sound right as far as tone...I would check for exhaust leaks.

Put the cat back on it, add a second resonator. Quit being scared of horsepower and up the shot.

How many names do you have chris?

i run that header, a 6x30" resonator and a magnaflow muffler. it hasa slight bit of rasp at high rpm, but is alright aside from that. you never will get away from a bit of raspyness without a cat

yeah i will have to check for that. i think i am going to take the cat out of the stock dp and cut it off and stick it in the beginning part of the exhaust if it fits so the car will have no more bad smell then add a resonator on top of that.

anyone have an idea how much a resonator cost that will fit in the stock exhaust?

i wanna get back to the stock exhaust sound. basically no sound. lol

how much did the 6x30 resonator cost you? where can i get one (links?)

also where did you put it in the exhaust? beginning part after the dp?

mine is a magnaflow, its a 30" body (36 overall) and 6" diameter. look around on summitracing, thats were i bought mine. however if the car is lowered, id recommend against such a large diameter resonator. it hangs a little low and even at that hits the heatsheild in the tunnel, ive scraped it so many times its now rattling quite bad and has to be replaced. largest im considering replacing it with is a 5", although will probly go with a 4".

yeah the car is lowered and i can't put a cat or resonator in the dp. so it would be in the stock exhaust. any idea where one would fit but not be too low so it would hit the ground? or is it not possible? i was thinking to take the stock cat and take it out of the stock dp and put it in the exhaust somewhere but i don't think it will fit anywhere.

Im running the clear image header and catless dp with the megan racing pipping and at the end a borla muffler and its sounds great. a bit raspy cuz of the catless at low rpm after that all sweet. i had a megan racing exhaust but muffler took a **** so i put the borla on and im more than happy. try adding a muffler on if not a bigger resonator

so maybe try to put a cat in the stock exhaust in the beginning or resonator to take away the raspy sound?
