Clear Image header
Has anyone bought the Clear Image Shorty header? If so, how does it sound compared to stock and did you notice any gains? Here is a link for it http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/...obalt%20SS.htm

I agree. It was actually one of the first to place the o2 sensor in the collector instead of the cylinder 4 primary. It had my vote until they dropped off the site. I have a Vibrant header/DP on order right now if they ever finish making them and ship them out.

www.zzperformance.com has them in stock all day long.

I have the Clear Image Header. I can tell you that it is one of the best made pieces I have seen. The headers in the pic on the web site are a lil different from what they finalized. They are now 4-2-1 and really pick up revs faster. The O2 sensor is in the collector. The fitment issues were because they are almost a long tube design and need an extension for the sensor (new sensor location). Now that they are done prototyping they will most likely be building a down tube for the system as well.
Pics will be posted tonight.

Yes we are still around. Our shorty style had fitment issues so we stopped and moved on to a 4-2-1 design that works extremely well!!
We are the the only company that also took the time to get the correct firing order built into a 4-2-1 designed header.
The competition has it all wrong! This means that while their header will still function, it won't at the full potential that a 4-2-1 is designed for. Ours will
So stay tuned for more from Clear Image Automotive!!

will this header bolt up directly the the stock downpipe? Will it fit a 2.5 or 3 inch Dp? The o2 sensor has to be replaced, i though the o2 fitting was the same as the stock.

Dan has not removed that first header from the web site yet, ( needs to! ) We will post up new pictures and pricing of the new 2 piece 4-2-1 header when Dan gets back form a big car show in Daytona this weekend.
We will be selling the our 2 piece 4-2-1header with a high flow all SS metal matrix converter, and flex coupler. This will allow our customers to utilize there stock O2 sensors without any extensions.
Tony's car was a prototype for us and an exception, as he wanted to keep his stock converter. Being these things are so large we had to do a custom fit and therefore had to use O2extensions. This will not be the case for our production headers.

We already have the first section sitting on the shelf.
We go through a lot of high flow cats for other cars so it's hard to keep these things in stock!
Dan will be in on Monday ( after 12:00 noon, Pacific time ) so anyone can call in, or email and get more details for ordering.

How are the others wrong on the firing order? I just got to looking at it and if my info is correct the Ecotec firing order is 1-3-4-2. The Vibrant header has cylinders 1 and 4 paired and 2 and 3 paired. I thought the purpose of a 4-2-1 was to separate the pulse so they didn't interfere with one another. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to know.

I am interested to know as well, and I also want to see some pictures of this setup. I am in the market for a new header/downpipe setup, so it would be nice to have another choice... Whats the projected price on this setup?

The competition has this backwards for the most efficient flow.
Also how long the tubes are need to be taken into the effect of drawing out the following pistons exhaust gases.
Hope that helps you understand their mistake.

As long as any cat back system is designed to bolt up to that location, it will work with our 2 piece header without any modifications or welding.
