Dude i told you in the other thread its just the JBP header that makes it sound like that, The sound will be there no matter what downpipe and catback you run

At first it didn't sound too bad. But once he took off it just sounded gross, it sounded hollow

thats the muffler, resonator choice.

----

put a proper muffler/resonator on it, and it wont sound hollow.

heres an example from yours truely (same header)

Ya, what he said. Its the un-equal length tubes in the header that make it sound like that.

Incorrect,

the tubes are equal length. The reason why it sounds that way is because its a tuned header.

not really the same at all....see i dont want ot be a dick but it still had that "honda with a fart can" sound just not as loud and annoying...its not ur fault or anything its just a small inline 4 cylinder and thats just how its going to sound unless you have something crazy...enter the JBP header..it is the best sounding exhaust peice ive ever heard on a balt...it sounds mean and throaty and grumbly and just plain nasty...im in love with that header

PSSSSSSSHHHHH versus your G35 no **** but it sounds damn good for a balt just listen to some other clips of the JBP versus some of other exhaust setups...the others just sound ricey like a honda with a fart can...the JBP is like a wrx meets S2000 and fucked and had a kid and then that kid had sex with a cobalt and out comes the JBP header lol or something like that

man i wish you were right.. but looking at the pics it would defy the laws of physics if these were equal length .. clearly there is one that is alot longer then another from the pics not to mention.. my zzp isn't a perfect equal length and it has a similar rumble ...

theres a reason wrx's sound the way they do ... and it's not because they have tuned headers or their boxster engine is teh awesomes.. it's because of their unequal length headers .... throw an equal length header on there and they sound just like any other 4 cyl engine

explain to me how runners 4 and 1 are even close to the same length

the only exhaust i have EVER found that sounds good on a cobalt was the zzp header/ dp with the gmpp catback... nice deep NOT RASPY sound.
thats what my cobalt had...

Not exactly the same as any other 4 cylinder the layout of the engine being a boxer or horizantely opposed has to do with it also...an old friend with a wrx put equal length header on his car and it had the same grumble just not as noticeable at high rpm...but yea the unequal length is a big factor for our inline motors.

idk man i guess we will have to agree to disagree...im not the kind of person to argue and say thats gay and ur wrong...im glad that you liked the sound of your car..it would suck if you didnt lol wouldnt make it fun to drive...respect to you for liking cars and not being a ******* and talking **** on what other people like...sometimes that hard to find...see your the kind of person that makes me happy i have a balt. and lsjwannabe and helpful, respectful, and just plain nice people who dont think they are the ****...thanks for being a cool dude even though ur not crazy about the sound..makes this a better place to be a part of (css.net i mean)
