Compression Test with Interesting Numbers?

I did a compression test tonight and the numbers cam out 210-210-210-180... I know they are within the normal range of what the numbers should be for a ss/sc. Thoughts?

Little low on that one. Perform a wet compression test and see if it improves any.

For clarification cyl 1 was the low one. Same result 3 times during cranking. I thought about dropping oil in to see but didnt know if he had any laying around.

add a few drops of oil in then do a compresion test if it gets better then you have a bad ring or a stuck ring

so the bad sticky ring... is it something to be worried about or ?

I bought a oil additive today to see if that will get the piston rings back, if not the motor still pulls hard and theres nothing out of the ordinary.

couls be the rings have rotated around as well and the gaps are aligned. 180 is acceptable, but when compared to the other 3, yours is out of whack

Mine did 190 - 190 - 190 - 185 in September...

Yours is a little low, I think they are all supposed to be within 10% of each other, so that 180 cylinder is a little low...

a single cylinder with that much difference could throw the harmonics off

That's the WORLD's WORST analogy for explaining an engine problem. Shame on you.

I wouldn't worry about it one bit. Here's why:

A friend of mine built a 500awhp DSM. Cyl #'s were 140-180-180-180. Car ran AWESOME and still takes a daily beating. Cause of the problem isn't a piston ring.

your friend is an idiot if he "built" a strong engine like that and didn't care that a single cylinder was 40 psi off the rest

sounds like someone who "built" a motor by bolting an unnecessarily large turbo on an old worn out engine

Sounds like you need to stop guessing about other builds. You must have missed the part where I said 'built'.

Max i'm done in here. If you want to redo it on that 1 cyl with oil let me know we'll figure something out.

Haha o comeon its just a bit of sarcasm, i know being short has nothing to do with compression testing
