Question Cooling mod: Killer Chiller

Well, before anybody screams search button, I went through several threads, one talking about Ralli's single pass another, a 21 page thread about the Killer Chiller. I read every single post and I couldn't find too much data on the Killer Chiller. I am definitely considering this mod but I want to know if any of the testers are willing to share their results or at least point me to a thread in which the results are stated. I saw the video of the mustang as well and those numbers were good, so it only peaked my interest in this mod. Well, any information will be helpful, thanks guys.

Talk to Josh(fast98) and Shaun(lsjwannabe) at Over The Top Performance(one of our vendors). They sell the kit, and they have done testing on it.

Yea, I was looking at their website but they don't have any information about how much it drops the IAT2's and all that. I'm hoping one of them replies or can give me some information. but I have been bugging them with some PM's about my CX H/E and a dual pass and all that stuff....

I would think even a drop in temps by 20* would be worth it. That combined with my CX, dual pass and meth should yield significantly lower IAT2's than what I have now. Which I am sure are through the roof.

I saw a 19 degree drop on a bottom of second to top of 3rd run. We only let the thing idle in the driveway for a couple mins and the cxracing intercooler was at 62 degrees at the outlet. If we would have let it idle longer I bet it would get to mid 50's. His car only has a cxracing heat exchanger (the stock heat exchanger is not used) and no other cooling mods. With the killer chiller it hits 127 at 6k in 3rd. Without it hit 146 at 6k in 3rd. The system still had air in it and it was only 60 degrees outside the day this was tested. On a 80 or 90 degree day you would see 40-60 degree drop easily.

I may not be understanging this right.

Let me get this straight, You say it is 60 degrees air temps outside but if you let it Idle longer it would get to mid 50s ??????

And On a Hotter Day you would see Larger Temp Drops ?????

The outlet of the heat exchanger was 62 degrees, it was also about 58 degrees that day, I just rounded to 60. The longer you let the system idle the colder the intercooler coolant will get........to a certain point.

Make a little more sense?

Is it better to eliminate the stock HE when doing a CX HE? I'm about to install mine and was comtemplating, if it doesn't hurt im just gonna leave it in there with the lines running through it.

You can't use the stock heat exchanger with the KC unless you move it infront of the ac condensor.

You would see larger drops on a hotter day because an air conditioning system work better with hotter ambient temps.

Well, all of this looks promising.

Fast98, which unit was that testing done with? I know in the other thread there was talk about 2 different units, was that the cheaper unit that was tested or the more expensive/complex one?

This was the cheaper of the two. At this time there is no plans to make the more expensive one as this one has shown great results.

Alright. Well, that's good. How well has the intercooler pump been holding up to the added load, or is it not affected by all of this?

That's good. I was wondering because I know that the pump goes out with not that much use under it's belt. Well, after I upgrade to dual pass, and meth I know what I'll be getting next. I'd love to see my IAT2's at or below 100* in the summer down here at WOT. Don't know if that's possible in the Florida heat but I sure hope it is.

Awesome, well, I hope they sell and I hope they sell fast because I believe once it catches on how well these killer chillers worked for the Mustangs and how well they are going to be working for us, it will be a much needed mod. Well, best of luck to you on selling them.
