Crower Regrind

My cams just back from Crower today. If anyone is interested the cost is $150. It took about two weeks and they are to my specs.

Ground. Sorry, My mother was an English teacher. (I'll leave you alone about ending the sentence in a preposition)

Shush, you didn't make a complete sentence either.

Very nice, I was considering Crower before I had mine done but I couldn't get them to return emails. Did they give you any shims for the lifters? Any idea how much material was removed? Keep us updated how it works out for ya.

Cool

Cam grinding, that's for weight reduction right?!
I would like to start internal work but to be honest with you I have no idea what would be proper for a high strung 4 banger, let alone a blown one. I build V8s... lol

For anyone who is interested go to http://www.crower.com/misc/m_cat.shtml click on pages 2-52 and scroll down to camshaft recomendation form. Then give them a call at (619)661-6477 to discuss your application. You don't have to be a car genius, they know what they're doing and they can help you out.

The other big name cam companies charge about the same. Brand new cams alone shouldn't be more than 500 bucks a set. These are regrinds so using your stock cores, they should be pretty decently priced.

I won't really be able to tell how much I gained from the cams since the head is ported and I'm running a higher compression ratio than stock.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay a machine shop to port your stock head? I'm having trouble finding anyone around me willing to do it for less than what I can get a full race head from GM Racing.

The machine shop that does my work is doing a street/strip port job. Def cheaper but I'm still waiting on flow #'s. PM me if you want more info.
