Cruse control problems

Bought my 06 SS/SC (stock) about 4 months ago. I noticed the cruse control wasn't working. When ever i tried to engage it, cruse control would pop up in the display for a second and disapear. It never would work. I had the GMPP stage 2 installed 3 and ahalf months ago and for some reason the cruse control started working..... Up until a week ago. I found cruse control wasn't working when i would press it. then some times it would. Now it does exactly what it did when i first bouth the car. turn the cruse control on, comes up on the display fora second then nothing happens....no cruse control.
Anyone have this happen to them? anyone know how to fix it?

if that doesn't work, the button that the clutch touches to start the car is broken. if it breaks, the cruise control will think the clutch is depressed and activate for a second and then turn off.
