Damn!!
So I had a ticking noise under my valve cover by the timing chain. So I ended up replacing the timing chain tensioner. with these steps
- remove valve cover
-remove old tensioner
- install new tensioner
- give it a little tap on the back to unload it
- pushed down on the yellow guide to see if it was tensioned. It felt like it anyways
-reinstall valve cover and components.
Then i started the vehicle and the ticking was WAYYY worse. after about a minute I turned it off. removed the tensioner again and It was DEFINATLY unloaded with pressure on it. So while it was still unloaded i pushed it back into the tensioner hole and re tightened it down. attempted to start again..... It started for like 4-5 seconds sounded like **** cut out, threw a code now it wont start anymore, Just seems like there is no compression or its not grabbing the fly wheel. maybe broke the chain?
Anyways, Im going on vacation for 10 days and i have no time to look at it right now, Just looking for opinions. cheers I suck

Did you not go with the updated tensioner? The new ones are not spring loaded and do not need to be tapped to get set. If you have a stock style one and it didnt set correctly and you jumped timing you may have bent some valves. Most likely take the head off, get a set of valves, get a new style tensioner, and put it back together.

i had a loud ticking noise coming from mine to so when i took it to the dealer the actual chaine had streched 3/4'' so you might want to check that but if its free spinning it has some bent valves or a broke chain but a broke chaine would probly lock the crank but eather way bent valves

Im on vacation and I seriously can't stop thinking about this. I'm a 3rd year automotive mechanic and I just want to be home diagnosing the problem instead of being on vacation Now-.- I hate my passion for cars. Ps it's my daily driver. And my turbocharged focus is on the other side of Canada at my dads house
