That is funny because I am the one who arranged for the direct replacement crankshafts to be made in the first place by a company from the US.
But anyways, no this is a stock crank as this isn't the race engine.

The replacement is here.

Perhaps my luck is finally turning around. The repalcement engine arrived and it is in one piece. Then again when you see the picture of JBP's crate you will see that they weren't taking any chances on this engine in transit. There where 5 pallets used, one on the bottom and one on each side. On top of that the engine was wedged into place with dense styrofoam and finally strapped down.
I am off to start prepping the engine for install tomorrow morning. If all goes well my_bd and myself will be firing it up tomorrow evening.

Cool It's Alive

At about midnight we fired up the replacement engine and she runs. We have a cam sensor code for which I will do a "case relearn" and there was a oil leak at the oil pressure sensor. After a few minutes the leak was tightened and we ran her again. We need to add some fuel at idle and down low. All in all it was a good feeling to hear her run.
The neighbors probably weren't happy with the noise and then when my_bd, Red2.4SS and RobHole drove away they were likely ready to go to sleep.
Myself I had to shower so I could have celebratory nookie.

That looks cool in a painful way.

We are going to do the tuning this weekend and once she has 500 miles the meth gets turned on and we dial her in.

That is if it lasts 500 miles.

I'm sorry, but I have never been impressed with JBP. I would have fired them by now. I fired the first shop that worked on my car.

They pulled the powertrain out of my car. They tried to ship the trans via regular UPS, which you can't do because it's overweight. But the driver took it, and subsequently dropped it out of the back of the truck, literally. The shop failed to properly insure it, so we didn't get the full amount of the transmissions worth. I made the shop eat the difference on getting the replacement.

Then they put the engine back together and dropped a nut into the induction, which promptly got into #1 and jingled around like loose change, tearing up the piston. I can't tell you how many times they told me they where working on the car and caught them not.

That was 2 years ago. They are out of business now. Shocker.
