Haven't been able to find this posted here yet, so here goes.
If you are the electrically inclined type and want to build yourself an inexpensive OBD II scanner, check out http://www.scantool.net. They sell do it yourself kits with an OBD2 cable, board and parts to make your own scanner to plug into your laptop....If you can solder, they are supposedly pretty easy to assemble and work well. Couple buddies at work have these and swear by them....Software is downloadble from the site as well...
For the record I'm not advertising, just something that might be of interest to some people.
